This pivotal role within the procurement team involves acting as a business partner between Procurement and various business areas related to ICT spend categories across Melbourne Water's external spend environment.

The role requires developing strategic category management for ICT categories to identify and maximize procurement efficiencies, value generation, and market insights.

  • Develop and manage strategic category management plans to optimize ICT spend categories.
  • Contribute to the development and management of the annual and 5-year procurement strategic opportunities plan for ICT categories.
  • Collaborate with the Sourcing Delivery and Contract teams to optimize procurement sourcing, contract management, and performance.
  • Optimize the supply base through strategies like aggregation, consolidation, bundling, and rationalization, developing vendor strategies that address business needs and ensure value for money.
  • Support education, awareness, and training initiatives related to Procurement and Category Management strategies.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills with senior stakeholders and vendors.
  • Drive strategic outcomes and foster collaboration with peers and management.

Requirements include a degree in Supply Chain and Logistics or Information Technology, with a preferred tertiary qualification in commercial management and MCIPS qualification.
