Category Management Expert

As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for managing ICT spend categories across Melbourne Water's external spend environment.

About the Role

This pivotal role involves acting as a business partner between Procurement and various business areas related to ICT spend categories.

You will develop and manage strategic category management for ICT categories to identify and maximize procurement efficiencies, value generation, and market insights.

  • Develop category plans and vendor strategies that address business needs and ensure value for money.
  • Contribute to the development and management of the annual and 5-year procurement strategic opportunities plan for ICT categories.
  • Collaborate with the Sourcing Delivery and Contract teams to optimize procurement sourcing, contract management, and performance.
  • Possess extensive experience in a commercial or public sector environment, with knowledge of public sector procurement desirable.
  • Have experience partnering and delivering ICT categories effectively.

A degree in Supply Chain and Logistics or Information Technology or equivalent is required, with a preferred tertiary qualification in commercial management and MCIPS certification.
