About the Role

Sanitarium Health and Wellbeing Company is a leading FMCG company with a rich history and a strong commitment to making a positive impact on people's lives. We are seeking a highly skilled R&D Scientist to join our team and contribute to the development of innovative and high-quality products.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in food technology or a related science area, with a minimum of 2 years' experience in the food industry. They will be responsible for developing new and innovative products, managing food technical aspects of projects, and ensuring that all products meet the required standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement new product ideas and concepts, working closely with cross-functional teams to bring them to life.
  2. Manage the food technical aspects of projects, including product development, testing, and quality control.
  3. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure that all products meet the required standards and regulations.
  4. Conduct experiments and factory trials to test and refine new products.
  5. Identify opportunities for product and raw material innovation, cost and quality improvements.
  6. Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project objectives.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in food technology or a related science area.
  2. Minimum of 2 years' experience in the food industry.
  3. Strong understanding of food regulations, legislation, and food safety.
  4. Understanding of HACCP as applies to food production.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work independently or in a team as required.
  6. Understanding of WHS and EEO in the workplace.
  7. Driver's license.
  8. Prior experience as a barista or related studies.
  9. Familiarity with plant-based milks is desirable.
