Executive Speechwriter Role

We are seeking an experienced Executive Speechwriter to craft impactful speeches and communications for senior leaders.

This is a unique opportunity to make your mark in a fast-paced government environment, driving strategic goals and objectives through compelling storytelling.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Create engaging speeches and communication materials for top-level government leaders, leveraging strong writing skills and creativity.
  • Coach and mentor a talented team of ongoing APS staff, boosting their speechwriting capabilities and fostering growth.
  • Manage competing tasks while delivering excellence under pressure, demonstrating adaptability and resilience.
  • Leverage extensive experience in speechwriting for government and executive leaders, providing valuable insights and expertise.
  • Proven ability to lead capability-building initiatives, helping others enhance their skills and contribute to organizational success.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with a talent for persuasion and influence.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities, with a focus on developing high-performing teams.

Requirements:

  • Solid experience in government and executive speechwriting, with a strong portfolio of work.
  • Degree or diploma in journalism, communications, public relations, or marketing (or equivalent experience), with a focus on writing and storytelling.
  • NV1 Clearance - or ability to obtain and retain NV1 clearance, ensuring security and integrity in sensitive environments.
