Geologist - Underground Mine Development

We are seeking an experienced Underground Mine Geologist to join our team at Ora Banda Mining. As a key member of our Geology team, you will play a critical role in the development and exploration of our underground mine.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct day-to-day mine geology activities, including face mapping, face sampling, and updating plans and sections with geology data.
- Assist with wall and backs mapping of all capital and ore development to ensure regulatory compliance, monitor geotechnical conditions, and build the knowledge base of the deposit.
- Collect quality structural measurements of each face, wall, and backs mapping, and core logging.
- Work with Engineers and Survey closely to minimize dilution and maximize recovery of the ore in development and stoping.
- Collect and submit geometallurgical samples to enable metallurgical recovery factors and key elements to be included in estimations for geology models.
- Assist in the interpretation of the deposit's structure, lithology, alteration, and mineralization by quality face and wall mapping and sampling, and core logging.
- Provide geological information to ensure the accurate reporting of daily and weekly ore UG trucking movement and surface stockpile balances.
- Assist with the design and supervision of underground drilling programs as required.
- Assist with producing high-quality geological logging of GC diamond core and plan/section interpretation.
- Contribute to the daily and weekly planning of ore movement.
- Tertiary qualification in Geology or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role.
- Previous use of mining software, including Micromine, Leapfrog, and Geobank.
- Membership in a professional organization, such as the Australian Institute of Geoscientists (AIG) or the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM).
- Ability to work as part of a technical team.
- Good communication skills.
- Proactive attitude and aptitude for learning.
- Awareness of workplace health and safety regulations.
- ERT experience and willingness to join Ora Banda Mining's ERT is preferred.
- Current WA manual driver's license.
- Current First Aid certificate.
