Biomedical Data Platform Specialist

As a Biomedical Data Platform Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in establishing Australia's first integrated, accredited, multi-omic analysis platform for research and clinical samples. You will develop cutting-edge digital solutions to enable sharing and analysis of human omic and phenotype data.

This role offers you the chance to shape national research infrastructure, collaborate with top scientists, and directly contribute to AI-driven discoveries for improved health outcomes.

  • Create production-grade tools for automated data flows, including archiving, cataloguing, and analysis of sensitive human omics datasets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new software features and integration points.
  • Design and execute test plans, lead code reviews, and maintain high-quality codebases.
  • Work with diverse stakeholders to align technical solutions with project needs.

Key Qualifications:

  • Skilled Software Developer with a passion for data pipelines and systems integration.
  • Extensive experience developing robust, release-quality Python code.
  • Deep understanding of ETL processes and data processing.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux command-line utilities and shell scripting.
