About the Role

This position involves attending plant and equipment breakdowns, carrying out scheduled routine preventative maintenance and providing technical support within a continuous improvement environment to optimize manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and maintain electrical equipment in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations and other relevant standards.
  • Find faults using advanced PLC controlled manufacturing equipment.
  • Analyze, develop and implement programs for plant optimization, including downtime reduction to drive towards new targets, future expansion, new equipment implementation and commissioning, equipment improvements and ongoing continuous improvement programs.
  • Maintain and develop computer-driven manufacturing equipment and control systems.
  • Follow maintenance planning schedules to maximize quality production output.
  • Provide assistance to team leaders to continually progress and develop the Preventative Maintenance System.
  • Develop creative solutions within fundamental principles, technical standards and safety limits to come up with best practice manufacturing processes.
  • Build working relationships with production operators to identify and solve technical problems.
  • Liaise with contractors and suppliers.
  • Assist in developing tests/fixtures for components and finished products to ensure the product meets quality standards and operating requirements.
  • Take full accountability for personal safety and well-being, develop an understanding of risk minimization and be committed to achieving the highest possible standards for Safety, Health and Environment.
  • Communicate and endorse safety practices, monitor key safety performance indicators and visibly participate in promoting safety policies and initiatives.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • A Class Electrical Workers Licence.
  • Well-developed fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Formal qualifications and extensive PLC experience.
  • Significant experience working in a modern manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of computerized maintenance management systems.
