Information Technology and Systems Director

VICTORIA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY is seeking a senior academic leader to provide disciplinary leadership in Information Technology and Systems.
The appointee will oversee the delivery of ITS courses across all modes, including online and face-to-face.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will lead the academic development, delivery, and quality assurance of VICTORIA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY's ITS courses, including Bachelor of Information Technology and Systems, Master of Information Technology and Systems, and other programs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide academic leadership in the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of ITS courses.
- Lead the development of new undergraduate and postgraduate courses in alignment with strategic priorities and market demand.
- Oversee academic operations, including study plans, timetables, staffing, and academic integrity across all delivery modes and locations.
- Lead course innovation and quality assurance initiatives, including online and asynchronous delivery models, course monitoring, external moderation, and accreditation.
- Mentor academic staff and foster contemporary teaching practices.
- Engage with industry, alumni, and professional networks to enhance work-integrated learning opportunities and graduate outcomes.
- Participate in academic governance, committee leadership, and strategic planning to support institutional goals and uphold compliance with the Higher Education Standards Framework.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum 5 years' experience in a leadership role preferably in Australia.
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and management while building strong teams and managing limited resources.
- A qualification and skills relevant to curriculum planning, content delivery, and assessment in the field of education.
- Highly developed interpersonal communication skills and the ability to engage and manage staff and students.
- A record of scholarly engagement in a discipline relevant to the role.
