Senior Electrical Network Design Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team in Melbourne. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing engineering design and technical support in the development of transmission and substation projects.

  • Undertaking primary design for substations and terminal stations to a high technical standard
  • Developing scopes and specifications for design and construction
  • Managing outcomes within project programme constraints while maintaining high levels of technical performance
  • Reviewing work as part of the peer review process from time to time as may be required
  • Effectively managing the detail design from concept through to final design implementation to agreed scope, quality, and time frames
  • Identifying and managing scope variations according to client and/or project requirements
Requirements

To be successful in this opportunity, you will ideally have:

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience with demonstrated experience on electrical utilities projects
  • An Electrical Engineering Degree (or equivalent) NER desirable, motivated and willing to work toward CPEng status
  • Relevant work rights to live and work full-time in Australia
  • Detailed technical knowledge and experience in electricity networks engineering
  • Demonstrated experience with primary design in electricity substations engineering, project delivery and/or design roles
  • Proficiency with Auto CAD and Microstation
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills to manage stakeholders at all levels
