Job Title:

A data center critical facilities engineer is required to join our team at a prestigious Sydney data center. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving the facility's critical infrastructure, including power systems, HVAC, plumbing, fire control and suppression, and all site services.

This is a fast-paced role that requires an engineering mindset and a strong understanding of mission-critical environments. The ideal candidate will have experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance, vendor management, and teamwork.

The role will involve performing routine preventative and corrective maintenance on-site, monitoring the Building Monitoring System (BMS), operating and maintaining plumbing, fire suppression, and life-safety systems, and implementing energy efficiency measures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine preventative and corrective maintenance on-site to critical facility components and/or systems
  • Monitor the Building Monitoring System (BMS) and resolve alarms for specialized issues requiring considerable judgement and implications to resolve
  • Operate and maintain plumbing, fire suppression, and life-safety systems
  • Implement energy efficiency measures

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of a mission critical environment
  • Trade or Degree Qualifications relevant to Engineering
  • Electrical/Mechanical background with view to picking up more complex work over time
  • Vendor management and coordination
  • Team player and collaborative mindset and ability working well with different people at various levels of skills and experience
