About us

A leading provider of robotics and process automation solutions seeks a skilled Automation Controls Technician to join our team. This role involves regular travel across Australia and occasional international assignments to support, install, commission, and service advanced automation and robotic systems at client sites.

You will be working on high-performance systems such as robotic sample preparation units, automated material handling equipment, and industrial control platforms in mining and heavy industry environments. This position is ideal for someone with strong automation and controls experience who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys hands-on technical work, and is comfortable working independently in remote and industrial settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, Commission, and Service Automation and Control Systems: At client sites, you will ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of advanced automation and robotic systems.
  • Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues: Across PLCs, HMIs, sensors, actuators, and industrial networks, identify and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
  • Perform Diagnostics and Maintenance: On control panels and instrumentation, perform routine diagnostics and maintenance tasks to ensure peak system performance.
  • Provide Handover Training and Technical Support: To site personnel, deliver comprehensive handover training and technical support to ensure smooth system operation.
  • Conduct Routine Inspections, Preventative Maintenance, and System Upgrades: Regularly inspect, maintain, and upgrade automation systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Complete Service Documentation, Risk Assessments, and Technical Reports: Accurately document all service activities, risk assessments, and technical reports to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Internal Engineering Teams: Work closely with internal engineering teams to resolve complex technical issues and drive innovation.
  • Maintain a Strong Safety Culture: Ensure strict adherence to site procedures and safety protocols to safeguard both employees and clients.
