Fabricator/Welder Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Fabricator/Welder Specialist to join our team at Remote Industries Australia Pty Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of our projects.
Key Responsibilities- Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications, using precision measuring instruments and equipment.
- Tack-weld or weld components and assemblies, using a range of welding techniques and equipment.
- Cut workpieces using powered saws, hand shears, or chipping knives, and melt lead bars, wire, or scrap to add lead to joints or extrude melted scrap into reusable form.
- Install or repair equipment, such as lead pipes, valves, floors, and tank linings, and observe tests on welded surfaces to evaluate weld quality and conformance to specifications.
- Inspect grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using precision measuring instruments, and remove rough spots from workpieces using portable grinders, hand files, or scrapers.
- Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions, and heat, form, and dress metal parts using hand tools, torches, or arc welding equipment.
- Analyse engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations, and develop templates and other work aids to hold and align parts.
- Determine required equipment and welding method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques.
- Relevant qualification in welding or a related field.
- Completion of a welding apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
- Proven welding experience, with a strong understanding of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques.
- Blueprint reading skills and physical stamina.
