About Us:
Remote Industries Australia t/as Remote Concrete NT is a Territorian-owned and operated, Tennant Creek based, Civil Construction company - founded in early 2012. Remote Concrete NT specialises in concrete supply, boom-pumping, concrete construction and civil earth work services to the mining, construction, oil and gas industries throughout the Northern Territory and beyond. Remote Concrete has successfully completed a range of projects for a multitude of clients such as CPB Contractors, Gemco BHP Billiton, Gebie Civil and Construction, Bechtel, Sitzler, Hutchinson Builders, Northern Territory Government and local cattle stations.
About this role:
In this role, you will lay out, fit, and fabricate metal components to assemble structural forms, such as machinery frames, bridge parts, and pressure vessels, using knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, and engineering requirements.
Job Responsibility:
· Lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and ruler.
· Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies, using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment.
Job Description:
· Cut workpiece, using powered saws, hand shears, or chipping knife.
· Melt lead bar, wire, or scrap to add lead to joint or to extrude melted scrap into reusable form.
· Install or repair equipment, such as lead pipes, valves, floors, and tank linings.
· Observe tests on welded surfaces, such as hydrostatic, x-ray, and dimension tolerance to evaluate weld quality and conformance to specifications.
· Inspect grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using micrometer, caliper, and precision measuring instruments.
· Remove rough spots from workpiece, using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper.
· Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
· Heat, form, and dress metal parts, using hand tools, torch, or arc welding equipment.
· Ignite torch and adjusts valves, amperage, or voltage to obtain desired flame or arc.
· Analyse engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
· Develop templates and other work aids to hold and align parts.
· Determine required equipment and welding method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques

· Relevant qualification
· Completion of Welding apprenticeship
· Welding experience
· Blueprint reading skills
· Physical stamina
