Electrical Design Engineer Role Overview

Ventia seeks a seasoned Electrical Design Engineer to join our Telecommunications/Wamarra team within the Critical Infrastructure division, working from North Plymton and Cavan offices. We offer adaptable work conditions and a supportive environment where your expertise will shape vital infrastructure projects across Australia.

About This Position
  • You will play a key role in delivering detailed electrical designs and supporting project execution.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Developing electrical detailed designs for telecommunications infrastructure
  2. Creating cost estimates for materials and labour
  3. Assisting construction teams during project delivery
  4. Updating databases and producing accurate as-built drawings
About You

We're looking for someone with a strong technical background and a proactive mindset. Ideally, you will bring:

  • Previous experience as an Electrical Engineer or Designer
  • Technical fluency in Low Voltage and DC power systems
  • Proficiency in preparing bills of quantities and interpreting CAD drawings
  • Strong skills in MS Office, particularly Excel for cost estimation
  • Familiarity with MS Access, Power Automation, and Power Apps (desirable)
  • A current manual driver's licence
  • Willingness to travel and work away from home when required
  • Understanding of ISO9001, OH&S legislation, and environmental licensing
