Job Description

This is a rare opportunity to lead, shape and grow a hydraulic services group in Melbourne. You'll bring technical authority, industry presence and commercial insight to strengthen relationships, unlock opportunities and influence the direction of landmark projects.

You will be responsible for leading, mentoring and inspiring a team of hydraulic engineers delivering complex Tier 1 and Tier 2 projects across commercial, health, education, childcare, industrial, heritage and government sectors.

Your key responsibilities will include championing technical quality, innovation and performance across the group, collaborating closely with mechanical, electrical, fire and sustainability disciplines to deliver fully integrated building services solutions.

You will also be responsible for strengthening and growing client partnerships, leveraging your professional network and reputation to identify and convert strategic opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have 12+ years' experience in hydraulic engineering within building services, in a consulting environment.

They will be recognised for their technical credibility, commercial acumen and ability to influence outcomes.

A proven leader with a track record of developing high-performing teams, comfortable and confident in engaging at executive level with clients, partners and stakeholders.

Commercially attuned, able to balance delivery with business development.

A Chartered Engineer (CPEng or equivalent) with a strong understanding of the built environment and the skills to drive business growth through innovative solutions.

In this role you will have the autonomy to lead your team, shape your approach and client engagement strategy.

You will inherit a well-respected group and diverse project portfolio, with opportunities for growth and development.

Cross-discipline collaboration will be encouraged, working alongside leading experts across the full building services spectrum.

This is a role for a leader who thrives at the intersection of design excellence, client engagement and business growth, someone who can set the technical standard while inspiring trust both in the boardroom and on site.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 12+ years' experience in hydraulic engineering within building services, in a consulting environment.
