Lead Hydraulic Engineer

This role offers a rare opportunity to lead and shape a hydraulic services group in Melbourne. As the Director - Hydraulic Engineering, you will oversee a team of hydraulic engineers delivering complex projects across various sectors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, mentoring, and inspiring a team of hydraulic engineers
  • Championing technical quality, innovation, and performance across the group
  • Collaborating with mechanical, electrical, fire, and sustainability disciplines to deliver integrated building services solutions
  • Strengthening and growing client partnerships through professional networks and reputation
  • Playing a leading role in high-value bids, pursuits, and long-term framework agreements
  • Shaping project strategies from concept to delivery, ensuring excellence at every stage
  • Representing the business externally through industry engagement, events, and thought leadership

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 12+ years' experience in hydraulic engineering within building services
  • Recognised technical credibility, commercial acumen, and ability to influence outcomes
  • Proven leadership skills with a track record of developing high-performing teams
  • Comfortable engaging at executive level with clients, partners, and stakeholders
  • Commercially attuned, able to balance delivery with business development
  • Chartered Engineer (CPEng or equivalent)
