GIS Support Officer Role

We are seeking an experienced GIS Support Officer to join our team in Southern Brisbane. The successful candidate will provide support to Biosecurity teams in aerial treatments of high infestation areas.

This is an entry-level contract position that offers competitive pay rates at A04 level and the opportunity to work with a growing Fire Ant-focused team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing accurate GIS maps and information for aerial land treatments using RPAS and helicopters
  • Interpreting and applying geospatial data to operational activities, including managing large datasets and developing work instructions
  • Mapping properties and defining work lot boundaries to assist in planning aerial treatment programs
  • Delivering high-quality support, including quality assurance and documentation
  • Supporting operational outcomes, reviewing data for accuracy, and maintaining records
  • Participating in system testing, troubleshooting, and providing feedback for system upgrades
  • Responding to inquiries, recording details accurately, and providing excellent customer service
  • Exporting, reviewing, and collating reports and data for management decision-making
Requirements:
  • Experience with ArcGIS or similar GIS software
  • Operational administrative experience

The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
