Digital Heritage Preservation Specialist

We are seeking an experienced individual to join our team in a part-time capacity as a Digital Heritage Assistant. This role will involve collaborating with our team to preserve Australia's digital heritage by creating disk images of vintage software and building legacy environments for the Emulation as a Service Infrastructure (EaaSI) platform.
This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in digital preservation while enjoying a flexible, part-time schedule. You will have the chance to work on projects that contribute to the preservation of Australia's digital heritage and develop your skills in digital preservation practices.
Key Responsibilities- Create high-quality disk images of vintage software using specialized tools and techniques.
- Build and configure legacy environments for the EaaSI platform, ensuring they meet the required standards.
- Collaborate with the team to develop and implement effective workflows for data management and preservation.
- Maintain accurate records of all activities and ensure compliance with established procedures.
- Strong understanding of digital preservation practices and principles.
- Experience working with vintage operating systems, including DOS, early Windows, and classic MacOS.
- Familiarity with emulation technologies and file formats.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with others.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
