Role Overview

This is a challenging and exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced manufacturing professional to join our team as a Manufacturing Operations Director. Reporting to the Engineering and Manufacturing Director, you will play a critical role in driving operational excellence across our manufacturing capability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manufacturing Technical Leadership: Provide strategic guidance and technical expertise to ensure that manufacturing work meets design intent, is safe, fit-for-purpose, and complies with all legal requirements.
  • Strategic Planning: Work collaboratively with the Engineering and Manufacturing function lead team to develop and implement business strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Demand Management: Ensure that tactical and strategic demand for manufacturing technical capability (People, Tools, and Process) is defined effectively and timely.
  • Customer Relationships: Build strong relationships with key manufacturing customers and stakeholders to instil confidence in our capabilities.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Senior Leadership Experience: Proven experience in manufacturing management, preferably in defence or heavy engineering industry.
  • Relevant Qualifications: Degree in a relevant discipline in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or Project Management.
  • Technical Skills: Strong analytical skills, ability to drive innovation, and critical thinking.
  • Communication Skills: Highly developed negotiation and influencing skills with ability to use multiple leadership styles to motivate performance.
