Job Overview:

This Mechanical Engineer role supports our decarbonisation projects, providing hands-on experience and structured development in a leading sustainable construction materials company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support daily maintenance operations and tackle real engineering challenges.
  • Investigate problems through root cause analysis and apply practical solutions.
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Use data to inform decision-making and drive reliability across the plant.
  • Contribute to planning and delivering maintenance activities, shutdowns, and capital projects.
  • Participate in reliability and asset improvement projects to shape future operations.
  • Develop leadership skills by supervising small teams.
  • Collaborate on decarbonisation projects, including the Railton Operations Decarbonisation Project.
  • Gain experience across two integrated cement plants, starting in Railton (TAS) and moving to Gladstone (QLD).

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree or near completion.
  • A collaborative approach and strong working relationships.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and data analysis aptitude.
  • Resilience, proactivity, and willingness to step outside their comfort zone.
  • Motivation to grow, learn, and take on new challenges.
  • Openness to regular interstate travel and relocation for each rotation.
