Our Intensive Foster and Kinship Care programs aim to assist those facing stress, potential breakdowns, or complexities in caring for young individuals.



About this Role:


This Permanent Full-Time position is based at our Maroochydore location, servicing the Sunshine Coast Region. As a Practitioner within our Intensive Team, you will play a crucial role in delivering tailored interventions to meet the unique needs of each young person and enhance the capacity of their carer families.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Carer Education and Support: Provide education, support, and resources to enhance carer abilities, addressing attachment issues, trauma effects, and related behaviours.
  • Complex Needs Assessment: Assess the needs of children and develop individualised care plans, including in-home support strategies.
  • Child Protection Legislation: Utilise knowledge of the Children Protection Act to ensure the safety and well-being of young individuals.
  • Facilitating Support Groups: Facilitate support groups and deliver training sessions to empower carers and build community connections.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Complete comprehensive documentation accurately and within specified guidelines.


Requirements:



  • Qualifications: Degree in Health, Human Services, Behavioural Science, Social Work, Psychology, or similar.
  • Credentials: National Police Check, Current Blue Card (Working with Children), Current Licensed Care Service (LCS), and Current Queensland Drivers Licence.
  • Experience: Previous experience in working with carers, including training, recruitment, and onboarding.
  • Skills: Ability to assess complex needs, implement effective care plans, manage complex documentation, and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.
