Academic Sessional Tutor

We are seeking highly skilled and motivated sessional academics to join our team at The University of Notre Dame Australia. As an Academic Sessional Tutor, you will be responsible for teaching and facilitating tutorials in the Tertiary Pathway Program.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a strong subject matter expertise in one or more of the following areas: Essential Maths, Human Biology, Research Skills, Academic Writing, and Communication Skills.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct high-quality teaching and facilitate discussions to enhance student engagement.
- Provide consultation with students on pre-tutorial tasks, weekly topics, and upcoming assessments.
- Participate in assessment activities, including marking, moderation, and providing feedback to students within prescribed timeframes.
- Comply with policies and procedures in all aspects of their work and conduct.
- Undertake professional development as arranged by the National Director of the Program.
- Provide pastoral care to students.
- A Master's degree and experience in teaching in university pathway programs.
- Ability to teach small tutorial groups and engage students in their learning.
- Ability to deliver quality learning and teaching practices in multiple modes, including online delivery.
- A keen interest in maintaining currency in scholarship and professional practice.
- Ability to incorporate technology into teaching and learning.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to work effectively in a team.
- Ability to assess priority of tasks, manage workload, and meet deadlines in a busy education environment.
The successful applicant will be offered a competitive salary, ranging from $60,000 to $80,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
