Job Title: Defence Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Defence Engineer to join our team and work on complex defence projects that safeguard Australia's future.

About the Role:

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a skilled Defence Engineer to utilise their expertise in system-level engineering, requirements management, certification, and contract deliverables. The ideal candidate will have experience working in logistically and technically complex Defence environments, producing design documentation and technical reports, and defining requirements, planning projects, and delivering within complex stakeholder environments.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting requirements analysis and development, leading system design and implementation activities, executing verification, validation (V&V), and certification processes, interpreting User Needs Statements and developing integrated C4I concepts, and providing SME advice.

This role offers a broad scope with key responsibilities including developing and executing elements of the Engineering Management Plan such as Technical Certification Plans, Technical Certification Briefs and Safety Case Reports, developing inputs into the Technical Certification process, and conducting Engineering Change activities.

Requirements:
  • Relevant industry experience, with a proven track record of delivering engineering services and in system-level engineering including hazard analysis, requirements management, certification, and contract deliverables;
  • Tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in Engineering within Defence;
  • Proven experience delivering Defence integration projects, in logistically and technically complex Defence environments, and in producing design documentation and technical reports;
  • Strong understanding of Defence capability integration, ODCS, and FIC;
  • Ability to define requirements, plan projects, and deliver within complex stakeholder environments, and ability to make sound judgement in managing risk, timelines, and technical delivery;
