Opportunity in Ophthalmology

The department is a multidisciplinary service providing outpatient and inpatient assessment services, ophthalmic surgical services and community based chronic care management.

We are seeking a Postgraduate Fellow to participate in the Ophthalmology clinics, on-call duties, perform operative procedures required to an appropriate standard, be involved in the supervision of registrars and residents and be involved in teaching and education.

The successful applicant will have sound clinical knowledge in Ophthalmology demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position as well as knowledge of vitreo-retinal disease.

Key Responsibilities:

- Participate in the Ophthalmology clinics and on-call duties.

- Perform operative procedures required to an appropriate standard.

- Involved in the supervision of registrars and residents.

- Be involved in teaching and education.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the RANZCO or international ophthalmology equivalent.

- Demonstrated skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical /Dental Practitioner including:

- High level interpersonal and communication skills.

- Ability working within a multidisciplinary team.

- Experience and involvement in quality assurance activities and evidence-based best practice.

- Demonstrated commitment to teaching and supervision.
