Ochre Health Coonamble is seeking an experienced GP VMO to join their team for a 14-day locum opportunity. This is a great chance to experience the full gamut of medicine in a friendly community located 90 minutes from Dubbo.

Role Details

The GP Clinic is a mixed-billing general practice that offers various services to its community. As a GP VMO, you will be responsible for providing medical care to patients, including ward rounds and GP consultations. You will also be on call for emergency presentations between 8am and 6pm, and on call evenings and weekends on a 1:2 basis for category 1 and 2 cases.

The hospital is equipped with 3 emergency beds, 8 acute care beds, and an 18-bed residential aged care ward. The nursing staff and Allied Health teams offer excellent support, making this a great opportunity for locum doctors.

Location

Coonamble is a rural town located 536 km north-west of Sydney via Mudgee. The town has a charming main street with historic pubs, murals, and Art Deco buildings. The district is known for its sheep and cattle farming.

Essential Criteria
  • Must be an experienced, vocationally registered ED/VMO doctor
  • Recent ED experience working in rural and remote communities
  • ALS2 certification is essential
