Critical Care Registered Nurse Job Description

As a vital member of our Intensive Care Unit, you will deliver high-quality care to critically ill patients with diverse needs. This encompasses individuals undergoing liver transplant, spinal, thoracic, cardiac surgery, ECMO, neurosurgery, general medicine, and liver failure.

To succeed in this role, you must:

  • Hold a postgraduate qualification in critical care nursing (ICU)
  • Have recent ICU experience in an acute hospital setting
  • Be registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Commit to rotating shifts, including 8, 10, and 12-hour rotations
  • Be passionate about delivering outstanding patient-centered care
  • Commit to ongoing professional development to advance your nursing practice
Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A strong educational background in critical care nursing
  • Recent experience working in an acute hospital environment
  • Current registration as a nurse practitioner with AHPRA
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends
