Job Description

This role is pivotal in ensuring the Joint Survivability Tactics Validation Unit's small team and material resources are optimised. The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience in facility management with an understanding of current legislation, policy, and principles.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work to tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including presenting information simply.
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills to build and sustain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
  • A flexible outcomes-based approach while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Trustworthiness, transparency, and integrity.

The Facilities Manager will work closely with the management team to produce plans across a range of activities, respond to facilities issues, and mentor staff in ensuring efficient, compliant, and safe use of the Unit's facilities.

The role involves:

  • Building and sustaining effective relationships with team members and stakeholders.
  • Managing the development and implementation of plans and programs for all maintenance works.
  • Ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, and procedures of Facilities Management, Security, and WH&S.
  • Performing the role of Unit Security Officer, managing building management and access controls/requests.
  • Maintaining the Unit Security register and security checks.
  • Contributing to the WH&S working group and representing JSTVU at meetings on facilities and security matters.

This is an exciting and varied role working in a dynamic work environment. While you report to the Commanding Officer of the Unit, you will be reasonably autonomous and accountable for the achievement of outcomes of your work.
