Key Roles and Responsibilities

The Anaesthetic Consultant plays a pivotal role in delivering anaesthesia and related services across various interventional disciplines.

This position requires close collaboration with the Clinical Unit Head Anaesthetics, ensuring seamless service delivery.

  • Anaesthesia Services: Provide expert anaesthesia services to all applicable areas except Cardiac Surgery, Neurosurgery, and Transplant Surgery.
  • Training Site: Contribute to the development of anaesthetic trainees accredited by the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) for up to 24 months of training time.

The Anaesthetic Department offers a diverse range of services, including intervention suites and pre-admission clinics, as well as an Acute Pain Service and Obstetric Anaesthesia. We also provide off-site services to Medical Imaging, Intensive Care, and the Emergency Department.
