We are seeking a skilled Clinical Coder to join our team at The Aushealth Hospital Research Fund Ltd. As a Clinical Coder, you will be responsible for assigning accurate and timely clinical codes to episodes of care using the ICD-10-AM ACHI 12th edition classification systems and applying the Australian and State Coding Standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assign clinical codes to episodes of care using ICD-10-AM ACHI 12th edition classification systems
  • Apply Australian and State Coding Standards to ensure accurate coding
  • Troubleshoot and problem-solve issues related to clinical coding
  • Participate in quality activities related to coded data and quality health data collection

Requirements:

  • Certificate qualified in either Certificate IV in Clinical Classification or Diploma of Clinical Coding
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving and understanding unclear documentation within the medical record
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to stay focused for extended periods
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
