Nursing Consultant Role

Clinical Nurse Consultants play a key role in improving health outcomes for individuals, families, and communities affected by drug and alcohol use. This challenging yet rewarding position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality treatment services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide assessment, treatment, support, crisis intervention, care planning, and evaluation of care in line with NSW Health Clinical Care Standards: Alcohol and Other Drug Treatment
- Deliver clinical leadership and education, and participate in research and clinical services planning in line with the criteria for a Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 1 as per the NSW Public Health System Nurses and Midwives (State) Award
Requirements:
- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse, Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
- Minimum five years full-time equivalent post-graduate qualifications experience and a post-graduate qualification relevant to the drug and alcohol nursing specialty
- Proven clinical leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in nursing practice
