Job Description

Maas Group is seeking a highly skilled Geophysicist to join our team in New South Wales, Victoria, and Queensland. As a Geophysicist, you will be responsible for managing and undertaking geophysical surveys, processing and interpreting site data, and utilizing geotechnical and geophysical data to produce 2D and 3D models.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Geophysical Surveys: Manage and undertake geophysical surveys, including seismic refraction, MASW, electrical resistivity, magnetics, ground penetrating radar, electromagnetics, and gravity.
  • Downhole Geophysical Logging Surveys: Manage and undertake downhole geophysical logging surveys, including televiewers, full wave sonic, and cross-hole seismic.
  • Data Analysis and Interpretation: Process, interpret, and report on site data.
  • Modeling and Visualization: Utilize geotechnical and geophysical data to produce 2D and 3D models.
  • Client Liaison: Liaise with clients, both internally and externally, for the purpose of providing technical support and advice.
  • Training and Development: Prepare and introduce training activities, mentoring, and transferring knowledge to other geophysicists, engineers, and scientists.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Science, majoring in Geophysics or Geology.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience in geophysical surveys and data analysis.
  • Technical Skills: Strong technical report writing skills, numerical, analytical, and observation skills, ability to problem solve, and proficiency in geophysical acquisition and analytical software.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to work within a team environment, and an interest in developing both technical and project management skills.
  • Other Requirements: Current driver's license and valid working rights in Australia.
