Job Title: Electrical Technician Officer (ETO)

Duties and Responsibilities
  • The ETO shall ensure the safe running of all electrical machinery & material in cooperation with other personnel within the technical department.
  • The ETO may be called upon to provide services for Charterer's equipment, but this must be clarified in advance by the electrician superiors, Master/Chief Engineer.
Electrical Equipment Maintenance
  • The ETO shall carry out all tasks regarding electrical equipment on board as instructed by the Operator.
  • The ETO shall perform maintenance and cleaning of electrical parts in accordance with the databased maintenance system, Chief Engineer's instructions, and good seamanship.
  • The ETO shall update the maintenance system when job orders have been completed and maintain spare part stock.
  • The ETO shall assist the Chief Engineer and Master in all respects where necessary.
  • The ETO shall maintain and inspect all DP-related electronic equipment on bridge & E/R and related computer systems.
  • The ETO shall keep the Chief Engineer updated on work done and consumption of spare parts and stores and all future requirements of electrical spare parts and stores.
Requirements
  • At least three years' relevant experience.
  • Certification and courses according to Flag State rules and regulations.

The ETO shall at all times comply with his/her duty in accordance with rules and regulation of the Flag State and IMO regarding their function.
