Job Description

As a brewing team leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the performance of a team of brewers at our facility. This involves driving excellence across safety, quality, and production performance.

You will plan tasks, ensure adequate coverage, and work collaboratively to solve any break-downs or quality issues throughout the brewing process.

This position requires flexibility in working a rotating roster of 12-hour shifts.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Process Monitoring: Monitoring and controlling the production process to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Process Implementation: Ensuring process changes are implemented as per instruction from technical brewers.
  • Team Management: Managing team shift handover and representation of all shifts at daily production team meetings.
  • Data Entry: Entering process data into appropriate systems.
  • Reporting: Completing accurate and timely shift admin and reports.
  • Process Control: Controlling processes and performing required actions to correct out-of-control processes.
  • Team Collaboration: Sharing information/instructions at meetings to focus on shift performance gap closure.
  • Facilitation: Facilitating effective teamwork through role allocation, tracking, and conflict resolution.

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Leadership Experience: Similar experience leading operations teams in a manufacturing environment - FMCG or brewing preferred.
  • Social Skills: Able to build strong working relationships and influence change.
  • Improvement Skills: Ability to identify and implement improvements, with experience in implementing new standards or processes effectively.
  • Adaptability: Open-minded and adaptable, with motivation to proactively up-skill.
  • Workforce Management: Prior experience managing a unionised workforce.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to work collaboratively across multiple levels/departments within a diverse workforce.
  • Safety Mindset: A strong safety-mindset, and experience influencing a safety-conscious culture, adhering to PPE requirements and safe operating procedures.
