About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Utilities network team and be responsible for operational and maintenance delivery ensuring that high standards of performance, safety, environmental and customer service standards are met to support the provision of water, wastewater and gas services across the Western Downs.

This is a full-time position, working 38 hours per week with a fortnightly RDO. The successful candidate will be based at one of our major regional centres (Dalby/Chinchilla/Tara/Miles and Wandoan).

Key Responsibilities
  • Uphold Safety First Culture in all workplace activities.
  • Lead in the development, implementation, and continual improvement of operational, safety, and emergency response procedures, processes, and systems for gas, water, and sewerage schemes.
  • Identify and manage risks associated with maintaining continuous Utilities treatment operations, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, regulations, and standards in the water and sewerage sectors.
Requirements
  • A relevant Diploma in Water Industry Operations or a Diploma in a related field OR be able to demonstrate equivalent related experience.
  • In-depth understanding of water industry as it relates to standards, operations, maintenance and risk mitigation with a focus on water, wastewater and gas network services.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and technology for utilities management, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of emergency response protocols and experience in managing incidents.
  • WH&S Construction Safety Induction White Card
  • Open C Class Driver's Licence
