Job Summary:

This role plays a pivotal part in our network security operations team. As a Senior Network Engineer (Network Automation), you will be responsible for handling Level 3 escalations, managing vulnerability and maintenance windows.

You will support our network automation platform by applying your intermediate to professional coding/scripting skills. Your expertise will extend to scripting for database queries, bolstering the databases housing network telemetry and status information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation, configuration, and upgrade of hardware, systems, and software for networks.

  • Management of network and security performance through monitoring, troubleshooting, reporting, and continuous improvement to optimise performance.

  • Identifying, analysing, and managing risk at every aspect of work.

  • Securing network systems by establishing and enforcing policies, defining, and monitoring access.

  • Undertaking project design and architecture work, including high-level and detailed design work.

  • Providing technical consultation to business/technology stakeholders to support relevant infrastructure partners and other business stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Coding Skills: Python scripting/coding (Intermediate) - primary importance.

  • DevOps tools Skills: BitBucket, Jenkins, JIRA, GitHub, Terraform, Vault.

  • Network Security: Operational expertise in the networking domain, showcasing your ability to tackle complex network challenges. Experience with F5 load balancer, GTM/LTM, Firewalls - Juniper SRX, Fortinet FortiGate, VMware (now Broadcom) NSX.

  • Data Management Skills: Data Collection, Schema Binding, Data Manipulation, and Analytical skills.
