Job Overview

The Power BI Specialist is a key role within the organization, responsible for the development of data products and day-to-day administration of Power BI services across multiple tenancies.

This specialist will provide best-practice development advice related to various projects and initiatives. A key element of the role is to actively seek out opportunities to mature overall technical capability of services for the business.

  • Designing and implementing data solutions with significant business impact, including enhancement and expansion of the Power BI service to other Directorates.
  • Exploring long-term information technology requirements and supporting adoption of new features of the Power BI service.
  • Liaising with technical areas across the business to deliver project/services outcomes collaboratively.
  • Maintaining governance mechanisms and associated documentation in alignment with the WhoG Data Governance Framework.
  • Developing relationships with stakeholders across the business to support and expand the Power BI Service.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Technical knowledge and experience in designing, developing, implementing, and supporting Power BI data products.
  • Administrative skills and experience in managing the Power BI service and Microsoft tenancy administration.
  • Experience in database design, implementation, administration, normalization, and producing decision-useful report outputs.
  • Strong knowledge of IT concepts, systems, platforms, tools, and technologies, programming methodology, hardware, software, and services.
  • Broad experience or exposure to translating business requirements into appropriate data source and database system solutions.
  • Knowledge of Agile project management methodologies such as Azure DevOps or Jira.

We are looking for an Australian citizen who can obtain a Baseline clearance.
