About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Officer to join our team at Aquila Mine, Middlemount, QLD. As a key member of our HR team, you will be responsible for providing support to employees and managers with general HR and payroll enquiries, resolving issues and problems, and providing advice, coaching, and support to operational teams in relation to the entire employee lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the HR Superintendent in the provision of sound advice to line managers in all aspects of HR management to assist in the delivery of the business plan
  • Provide support to employees and managers with general HR and payroll enquiries and resolves issues and problems
  • Provide advice, coaching, and support to operational teams in relation to the entire employee lifecycle, including recruitment, employee engagement, learning and development, performance management, employee relations, absence management
  • Champion pipeline programs for Aquila Mine, including Vacation Students, Apprentices & Graduates
  • Build and foster collaborative relationships with both employees and leaders, whilst managing the Human Resources plans and key performance indicators
  • Effectively implement HR policies, procedures, industrial instruments, initiatives, and programs at Aquila Mine
  • Deal with industrial and employee relations, unions, and employee representatives within your scope
  • Assist with the management of service contractors
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, or a related discipline (desirable)
  • Experience working in mining, heavy industry, or construction (desirable)
  • Resilient nature, openness for change, and demonstrated ability to drive best practice
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to meet deadlines, and plan ahead
  • Ability to prioritize workload and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional communication skills, ability to negotiate, influence, and achieve stakeholder buy-in
