About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to join our team as a Water Feature Technician, working with Melbourne Parks and Gardens to deliver top-notch water management services.

As a key member of the Water Management Team, you will be responsible for maintaining all water assets to the highest standard, exceeding contract requirements. Your daily tasks will include servicing fountains and ponds to ensure they are free from litter, leaves, and debris, as well as testing and chemically dosing water to maintain its quality and balance.

You will also undertake major cleans and repairs of water features on a scheduled basis or as needed, service and maintain associated assets such as UV lamps, aerators, filters, and pumps, and assist in all areas of the Water Team as required.

In addition to these responsibilities, you will accurately keep required records, report issues, defects, and repairs promptly, work safely at all times, and perform confined space entry, fault finding, and diagnostic work to trace, identify, and scope issues for repair.

The successful candidate will possess a current driver's license, trade certificate in Plumbing, Water Chemistry or equivalent, experience maintaining water features, fountains or similar assets, skills in irrigation system maintenance, ability to recognize water quality issues, and OHS&E awareness.

This role requires a high level of autonomy and self-management while working within a team environment. You will have sound problem-solving skills, effective time and workload management skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks.
