Personal Care Assistant Job Summary

Southern Support Family, a leading provider of home care and maintenance services, is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Personal Care Assistant to join our team.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about delivering exceptional care and support to clients in their own homes.

  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, toileting, and showering.
  • Prepare healthy meals, adhering to food safety guidelines.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy environment for clients by following health and safety laws and regulations.
  • Perform light cleaning and domestic duties to maintain a clean and comfortable living space.
  • Provide transportation assistance and companionship to clients.
  • Monitor and report any changes in client health or status to the care team.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and their families.
  • Able to work autonomously, with minimal supervision.
  • Reliable, flexible, and able to commit to varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Valid police clearance and Covid-19 vaccination requirements apply.
  • Hold a valid driving license and comprehensive vehicle insurance if providing travel assistance.
  • Certificate III in individual support preferred, but not essential.
