The Modern Workplace Engineer role at TransGrid presents an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated individual to drive the deployment and management of modern workplace systems, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and service level agreements.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for configuring and supporting Microsoft 365 applications such as Intune, SCCM, Teams, Entra, Office, and OneDrive for Business. Your duties will also involve overseeing the provisioning and management of both physical and virtual end-user computing (EUC) endpoints, ensuring the Standard Operating Environment (SOE) is consistently updated to maintain optimal performance, application compatibility, and security.

We are seeking an expert with a proven track record in end-user computing, with a focus on Microsoft technologies. The ideal candidate will bring expertise and passion for the end-user computing space, being personable and approachable, able to connect with others easily. Additionally, they should have strong communication skills, enabling them to break down complex, technical jargon into simple, understandable terms for non-technical audiences.

About You
  • 4+ years of experience in Modern Workplace Engineer or related roles, demonstrating expertise in end-user computing, with a focus on Microsoft technologies.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft 365 services, including Intune, Teams, SCCM, Autopilot, OneDrive for Business, and other modern workplace tools, along with proven experience in implementing and managing these solutions.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, complemented by relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator).
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and configuration management, along with familiarity with virtualisation, networking, security, and identity management (e.g., Azure Active Directory).
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in high-pressure environments, along with effective communication and collaboration abilities to engage stakeholders and work within a team.
  • Familiarity with ITIL concepts and experience using ITIL-based ticketing systems (preferably ServiceNow).
