Financial Expertise Sought for Key Government Role

We are seeking an experienced finance professional to contribute to the sound financial management of a government agency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and undertake complex financial tasks, including financial reporting, budgeting, and month-end processes.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial advice to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare and submit reports in compliance with Commonwealth guidelines.
  • Oversee financial systems and processes, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Assist with audit activities and ensure adherence to relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
Skills & Experience:
  • Proven experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably within the public sector.
  • Strong knowledge of Commonwealth financial management frameworks and accounting standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and build strong working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience with government financial systems is highly desirable.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a finance-related field are highly regarded.
