Credit Underwriter – Residential Lending

Role Overview

As a Credit Underwriter, you will be responsible for conducting credit assessments and approvals under your delegated lending authority (DLA). This role will work with and support the residential credit team to meet agreed service level agreements (SLAs) and drive customer-focused outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Credit assessment and approval for residential loans within DLA's
  2. Liaise with valuers, solicitors, brokers, and financial advisers as required
  3. Workshop scenarios with Relationship Managers to best meet credit guidelines
  4. Build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders by attending to phone and email queries in a timely manner
  5. Contribute positively to company culture and work environment

About You

  • 2+ years of residential lending credit experience with PAYG and/or self-employed/trusts
  • Have held a DLA of at least $500k currently or previously
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Well-developed relationship management skills demonstrating strong internal stakeholder management
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a strong team player
  • Experience with non-conforming lending would be desirable
