Scrap Metal Sorters Needed

We are currently seeking applications for various roles at our Hemmant site. The positions include:

  • Belt Picker: Picking and sorting scrap metal from conveyor belts.
  • Operator/Labourer: Sorting scrap metal.
  • Forklift Operator: Moving and loading sorted materials into designated containers or storage areas.

Hours of work:

  • Belt Picker: 6am – 2pm, Monday to Friday with overtime available.
  • Operator/Labourer: 6am – 2pm, Monday to Friday with overtime available.
  • Forklift Operator: 6am – 2pm, Monday to Friday with overtime available.

Pay rates:

  • Belt Picker: $30.65 per hour, plus overtime paid at penalty rates.
  • Operator/Labourer: $30.65 per hour or $32.20 if you have a forklift licence, plus overtime paid at penalty rates.
  • Forklift Operator: $32.20 per hour, plus overtime paid at penalty rates.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in these roles, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Ability to learn how to quickly and accurately identify different types of metal.
  • High risk forklift licence, desirable.
  • Experience in scrap recycling, construction or manufacturing, desirable.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced yard environment.
  • A positive and safety-focused mindset with a general willingness to learn.
