About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Relief Teacher to join our team at YMCA Brisbane. As a Relief Teacher, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of academic and wellbeing programs to students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver academic and wellbeing programs to students in a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Support the delivery of vocational training programs offered to students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan, write and deliver structured lessons that differentiate and personalise the learning for each student.
  • Assess and provide meaningful and supportive feedback and report on student learning.
  • Support students with a range of learning needs, including disabilities, behavioural disturbances, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADD/ADHD, low levels of literacy/numeracy, and mental illness.

Requirements

  • Hold a relevant University degree and current Queensland College of Teachers Registration.
  • Apply appropriate knowledge to plan and prepare teaching and learning programs to meet the diverse characteristics, needs and learning styles of students who are at risk of disengaging from education.
  • Effectively communicate with students, including the use of appropriate interpersonal skills and the ability to plan and apply appropriate behaviour management strategies.
