Disability Support Professional

Individuals with disabilities have unique needs and goals that require specialized support. As a Disability Day Service Practitioner, you will play a vital role in empowering them to achieve their full potential.

We are seeking dedicated and empathetic professionals who share our passion for enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities. If you have a strong understanding of supporting clients with varying disabilities and active supports, enjoy helping others achieve their goals and personal growth, and are an effective communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support clients in adventure-based learning, enabling them to push beyond their boundaries and develop new skills.
  • Assist with daily tasks, including personal care, hygiene, and meal support, promoting independence and confidence.
  • Promote community inclusion by identifying and facilitating engagement opportunities based on client interests, fostering social connections and a sense of belonging.
  • Encourage client participation in community activities, with support ratios ranging from 1:1 to 1:4, ensuring optimal outcomes and personal growth.
  • Foster physical health, communication skills, teamwork, self-confidence, and overall wellbeing through tailored support and guidance.
Requirements
  • Certificate IV in Disability or equivalent;
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification;
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain);
  • Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain);
  • Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
