Care Coordinator for Foster and Kinship Care

Tradewind Australia is a leading provider of child protection and out-of-home care services. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Coordinator to join our team in the Bundamba area.
About the RoleThis rewarding role involves working closely with foster and kinship care families, children, and young people to ensure they receive the support and care they need. As a Care Coordinator, you will be responsible for:
- Undertaking screening, intake, and placement partnering processes to match children and young people with suitable foster or kinship care families;
- Utilising assessment, crisis, and short-term intervention skills to address client needs and report issues to management;
- Contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and care arrangements to meet individual needs;
- Facilitating evidence-based parenting programs to parents and carers and utilising modelling techniques to address identified needs and vulnerabilities;
- Recruiting and supporting foster carers, as well as generating comprehensive assessments and reports regarding their suitability;
- Negotiating and implementing case management and planning, including joint case management processes, and maintaining accurate client records;
- Providing direct in-home support services, including after-hours and on-call services as required;
- Working sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, children, young people, families, and communities to provide culturally inclusive services.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A degree qualification in social work, psychology, social sciences, or a related discipline;
- Experience working with children, young people, and families in a child protection or community service context;
- Applied knowledge and understanding of child protection and out-of-home care frameworks;
- Demonstrated ability to complete assessments for care;
- Experience working with First Nations people;
- Demonstrated understanding of relevant legislation, including the Child Protection Act 1999 and Domestic and Family Violence Protection Act 2012;
- A sound understanding of child development and trauma theory;
- A current driver's licence (P2 minimum).
