Overview

The Department of Transport and Main Roads is seeking a Resource Manager to join our team. This role will play a vital part in managing resources associated with the delivery of civil infrastructure projects.

Job Description

As a Resource Manager, you will be responsible for effectively managing resources to deliver multi-discipline infrastructure projects. You will provide strategic resource planning and operational management to support RoadTek's core business of construction, maintenance, rehabilitation, and servicing.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Resource Management: Manage resources to deliver complex operational projects, adapting to meet variances in demand and/or project changes.
  2. Labor Resource Pool Management: Actively manage the labor resource pool to maximize project efficiency and minimize the impact of peaks and troughs.
  3. Workforce Performance Management: Manage workforce performance processes in accordance with RoadTek policy, including performance management, coaching, and addressing underperformance.
  4. Leadership and Development: Provide leadership, mentoring, and coaching to facilitate business, technical, and personal development of our people.
  5. Workforce Planning: Assist in the development and implementation of workforce planning strategies, including recruitment, capability, and succession planning.
  6. Injury Management: Manage rehabilitation and injury management procedures to ensure appropriate return-to-work practices.
  7. Relationship Management: Develop and maintain relationships with internal customers and external labour suppliers, including management of Standing Offer Arrangements.
  8. Process Implementation: Ensure consistent application of RoadTek business processes and systems to maximize resource effectiveness.
  9. Operational Planning: Participate in the implementation of operational unit plans and assist with strategic business planning.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Expertise in Resource Management: Expertise in managing resources for complex operational projects, including undertaking workplace planning and performance management functions.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills necessary to provide expert support and advice and build strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Prioritization and Time Management: Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve quality outcomes.
  • Change Management: Ability to lead and manage change in a complex environment.
