Access to trauma and culturally informed financial guidance can be key to a woman's journey of recovery and healing.
Job DescriptionAs a member of a multi-disciplinary team, the Financial Independence Specialist will provide individual guidance to women who have experienced issues of family and domestic violence to empower them to gain financial independence and effectively manage their finances.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individual guidance to women who have experienced family and domestic violence.
- Empower women to gain financial independence and effectively manage their finances.
- Work within a trauma and culturally informed model of service delivery.
This is a full-time permanent position working 38 hours per week between Monday and Friday.
Qualifications and RequirementsThe successful applicant will be required to meet the following criteria:
- Minimum qualification of Diploma of Financial Counselling or 1-3 years' experience in financial guidance and a sound knowledge of financial practices.
- Current registration with the relevant professional association.
- Previous experience providing guidance services to women who have experienced family and domestic violence and a sound understanding of the dynamics of FDV and the social and cultural context in which it occurs.
- Sound understanding of community resources and ability to navigate external agency requirements to support clients.
The successful applicant will work closely with a passionate and highly skilled team within a unique service model that truly makes a difference to the lives of vulnerable women and children.
