Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Cummins. As a key member of our field service team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to our customers across various industries, including automotive, mining, and industrial and agricultural.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-class service to customers, ensuring their diesel products are repaired and maintained to the highest standards.
  • Attend to breakdowns in the field, working on an on-call roster to ensure minimal downtime for our customers.
  • Diagnose and repair engines, inspect and replace components as required, and perform engine rebuilding and reconditioning tasks.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation, reporting any issues or incidents to the Service Supervisor.
  • Complete required documentation, including service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, and quality documents.

Requirements

  • Relevant Heavy Diesel trade qualification, such as Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Plant Mechanic, or Diesel Fitter (to Australian standards).
  • Previous field service experience is advantageous, but not essential.
  • Experience as a Diesel Mechanic in the service and maintenance of heavy diesel products is highly regarded.
  • Solid diagnostic, electronic, and IT capabilities are essential.
  • A valid Australian Driver's license is required.
