Job Title:

Metal Recycling Operator

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused individual to join our team as a Metal Recycling Operator. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the efficient processing of scrap metal, ensuring that our facilities operate in a safe and sustainable manner.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. They will also possess a forklift (LF) licence or be willing to learn.

In addition to operating equipment, such as forklifts and excavators, the successful applicant will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, skip bins, and trailers. They will also need to demonstrate personal responsibility for and commitment to OH&S policies and procedures.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start their career in the metals recycling industry. With a 2-week on, 1-week off FIFO roster, you will have plenty of time to rest and recharge between shifts.

Responsibilities:
  • Loading and unloading trucks, skip bins, and trailers
  • Operating equipment, including forklifts and/or excavators (where licensed)
  • Ensuring customers receive a high level of service
  • Grading and sorting materials
Requirements:
  • Forklift (LF) licence (or willingness to learn)
  • Excellent attendance, reliability, and attention to detail
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
